- Grant Mills | INK BOX ART
INTERESTED IN THIS ARTIST'S WORK? CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US: Mail Grant Mills A condensed (and all too brief) one year fine arts course in 2012 introduced Grant to the joys of oil painting, but the rigours of entrepreneurship kept him from exploring it further, until a semigration to Cape Town in 2023 created an opening to truly dive deep into his artistic endeavours. In February 2024, Grant joined the Alexander Art Academy and kicked off a storm of creative activity and experimentation creating 20+ finished works ranging from animal portraits and landscapes to finally settling on his first love, contemporary figurative portraiture. His latest series of works, BoKaap Caszh (an abbreviation of the word ‘casual’) featuring a contemporary exploration of BoKaap inspired portraits were exhibited at the Groot Constantia wine farm exhibit in collaboration with the Alexander Art Academy from 1-28th February 2025. Bo-Kaap Caszh IV, was recently selected as one of forty artworks to be exhibited at the Art.b Gallery for the Vuleka 2025 art competition. - JC Bolke | INK BOX ART
INTERESTED IN THIS ARTIST'S WORK? CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US: Mail JC Bolke "...Bölke’s artistic approach is characterised by his distinctive use of embroidery thread, a traditionally domestic and feminine medium, reimagined through a contemporary and deeply personal lens. Through this unexpected choice of material, he challenges preconceived notions of masculinity and femininity, weaving narratives that often engage with themes of sexuality and vulnerability. His creative process is meditative, using colour and texture to convey complex emotional landscapes in his portraiture." - JC Bolke Glowboy JC Bolke Cotton Thread 32cm Diameter R8,500 Elysium 2 Elysium 2’ JC Bolke Cotton Thread on Linen 37cm by 37cm R12,500
- Adele Sherlock | INK BOX ART
INTERESTED IN THIS ARTIST'S WORK? CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US: Mail Adele Sherlock Adéle Sherlock is a South African ceramic artist known for her hand-built, high-fired porcelain sculptures. Adéle specializes in creating unglazed works that explore the delicate balance between nature, time, growth, and decay. Using press moulds of plants, leaves, and natural objects, she captures the intricate textures and forms of the natural world, creating sculptures that evoke a sense of both fragility and strength. Her work is rooted in a deep connection to nature, with recurring motifs of nests, leaves, and organic forms that highlight the beauty of natural cycles. Each piece is carefully hand-crafted, allowing the raw qualities of porcelain to shine through without the use of glazes. Adéle holds an Honours degree in Design from Stellenbosch University, which has informed her approach to structure and form. Her sculptures have been exhibited at “Cube - Rust en Vrede”, and she was awarded the “First Merit - Western Cape New Signature Awards”. “Nest 2” was selected for the Clay Awards South Africa. Through her work, Adéle invites viewers to reflect on the impermanence of life and the fragile beauty of the natural world. Her structures echo femininity and lightness, beautiful but decaying. This interplay between strength and delicacy is a core to her work. . . the thin line between creation and dissolution, the beauty of impermanence." - Will Roux | INK BOX ART
INTERESTED IN THIS ARTIST'S WORK? CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US: Mail Will Roux "As with many of my artworks the inspiration for these works comes from stories, fables, fairy tales, folklore and design. I'm fascinated and intrigued by the history and origin of stories, and how they have changed and evolved with time. I create the artworks by first drawing the images then I proceed to break them down into simplified designs, after that I layer them back into three-dimensional form, using LED lights. By using these much-loved stories as inspiration, I try not to merely tell them in my own way, but also bring them to life, to let them shine like light in the darkness." - Will Roux Feathered Fractals Will Roux Hand-Cutting on Paper 26 X 26cm R1,800 Wildflower Canvas Will Roux Hand-Cutting on Paper 22 x 24cm R1,600 Aerial Serenade Will Roux Hand-Cutting on Paper 26 X 26cm R1,800 Mirrored Memories: A Pierced Past Will Roux Digital Photo on Mirror Board, Hand Piercing 39 x 30cm R3,500 Latitudinal Lines: A Pierced Planet Will Roux Digital Photo on Mirror Board, Hand Piercing 39 x 30cm R3,500 Endless Echo: A Vultures Journey Will Roux Digital Image and Hand Embroidery 31.5 x 47.5cm R4,000 Kringe in die Vuur 1 Will Roux Laser-cutting on board & Charcoal 30 cm diameter R2,000 Kringe in die Vuur 2 Will Roux Laser-cutting on board & Charcoal 30 cm diameter R2,000 Untamed Eden Will Roux Hand-Cutting on Paper 22 x 24cm SOLD Serenading Shadows Will Roux Hand-Cutting on Paper 26 X 26cm SOLD Grounded Hope Will Roux Hand-Cutting on Paper 33 x 32cm SOLD The Collective Unconscious Will Roux Laser-Cutting, Hand Embroidery and Piercing 38 x 52cm SOLD Echoes of the Artic: A Penguins Story Will Roux Digital Image and Hand Embroidery 31.5 x 47.5cm SOLD Luminous Labyrinth Will Roux Hand-Cutting on Paper 47 x 47cm SOLD
- Grace Kotze | INK BOX ART
INTERESTED IN THIS ARTIST'S WORK? CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US: Mail Grace Kotze "My work is motivated by the challenge of fusing my emotional intent with visual and technical concerns. At present oil painting is my primary tool, its phenomenally versatile nature offers never-ending possibilities of exploration. In order to produce works of integrity I have to paint from an emotional point of reference. I am very aware of utilizing imagery I have a profound connection to. My paintings function on an autobiographical level documenting both my internal and external vision. I paint places and people from my everyday life, using the familiar as a direct link to an emotive sense of self." - Grace Kotze Rediscovered Childhood Grace Kotze Bronze 12,7 x 7 x 5,2cm R5,000 The Voyage Grace Kotze Bronze 9,7 x 9 x 9cm R7,500 Life Celebrated Grace Kotze Bronze 11,2 x 7 x 5,2cm SOLD Stepping Out Grace Kotze Bronze 11,5 x 6 x 8,5cm SOLD The Gourd and the Weaver Grace Kotze Acrylic on Canvas 50 x 80 x 4cm SOLD A Stack of Penguins Grace Kotze Acrylic on Canvas 40cm x 80cm x 4cm SOLD
