  • MISHVANIA - Michelle Beattie | INK BOX ART

INTERESTED IN THIS ARTIST'S WORK? CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US: Mail MISHVANIA - Michelle Beattie Michelle Beattie creates intuitive art compositions sculpted from ocean plastic. Her sculptures highlight the severity of the ocean plastic pollution crisis, inviting viewers to engage in constructive conversations on how to address this issue. “If I don’t show you, you will not see!” Growing up in Plettenberg Bay, Michelle Beattie cherished her days on the beach, captivated by the ocean’s beauty and collecting what she affectionately called “Mermaids’ Tears.” It was only later that she discovered these were plastic nurdles, the raw material of plastic production. This realisation sparked her passion for environmental advocacy. Motivated by a growing awareness of the severe impact of plastics on marine life, Michelle felt a strong urge to raise awareness about this issue. In 2020, she discovered the power of art to convey her message. By sculpting with unaltered beach-found plastics, she aims to give the ocean a “voice.” Her art serves as a poignant reminder of our shared responsibility to embrace sustainability. Each piece tells a story of transformation, reshaping ocean plastic pollution into captivating artworks that invite reflection on our environmental impact. Through her creations, Michelle seeks to inspire a deeper commitment to protecting the environment. Their sculptural work, rich in symbolism, explores identity, transformation, and the beauty of self-acceptance. Through animal forms, they evoke fluidity, tenderness, and strength - celebrating queer love not as exception, but as essence. • Steven John Wilkins | INK BOX ART

INTERESTED IN THIS ARTIST'S WORK? CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US: Mail Steven John Wilkins "Sometimes, one must simply cease sculpting and merely look, look for all the things that aren't right with the piece…not the things that are imperfect; imperfect is unavoidable and actually desirable. Inspect photographs of the piece or look at it reflected in a mirror. The tendency for our minds to overlook errors can be upended simply by looking at a reflection. Then, take no action that day, come back to it later and then begin the work. This method can be applied to life; take the time to look closely, spend an entire day or week or however long you need to find what's wrong. Use your good relationships as a mirror, let people show you where you are wrong, then be glad for it! For knowing where you are wrong, you are now shown the path forward... Then, when you are ready, begin the work." - Steven John Wilkins Delphi Steven John Wilkins Bronze 74 x 57 x 54cm R88,000 Lionfish Steven John Wilkins Bronze 48 x 48 x 40cm R62,500 Smug Steven John Wilkins Bronze 32cm tall R28,420 The Fencer Steven John Wilkins Bronze edition 1/16 SOLD

These thoughts and emotions are constantly being informed by a complex and eclectic reality out there, therefore it seems fitting to reflect this and to respond to it by means of varied painting techniques. These rooms are symbolic narratives of my interior, abstract self a response to the world at large.” - Johan Bosch THE BIGGEST SPLASH Johan Bosch Acrylic and Oil on Canvas 88.5 x 71.5 cm R11,000 KEEP ON, KEEPING ON Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 60 x 50cm R6,500 Time Out Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 100 x 100cm R23,000 Lost in Translation Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 100 x 110 x 5cm R25,000 Lust for Life Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 100 x 100cm R23,000 Good Day Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 61cm x 51cm R8,500 Into the Trees - Study Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 45,5cm x 35,5cm R6,500 Tea Time - Study Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 45cm x 55cm R7,500 Waiting for Edison - Study Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 45cm x 55cm R7,500 Four Seasons Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 61cm x 51cm R8,500 Saturday Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 70cm x 50cm SOLD Defiance Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 51cm x 51cm SOLD The Big Blue Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 70cm x 50cm SOLD Cinderella Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 76cm x 61cm SOLD Waiting for Edison Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 100 x 100cm SOLD Tea Time Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 100 x 100cm SOLD Into the Trees Johan Bosch Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 100 x 100cm SOLD
